New Museum- Pippiloti Rist
Pixel Forest, Pipilotti Rist
The New Museum
October 26, 2016 - January 1, 2016
Pixel Forest, the first comprehensive survey of Rist’s work in New York, occupies the three main floors of the museum. It includes early single-channel videos from the 1980s investigating the female body in popular culture, as well as her most recent all-encompassing video-installation environments, including mood-enhancing musical scores. These dream-like pieces bring unexpected encounters with texture, form, and the living environment. Curated by Massimilio Gioni, the exhibit exemplifies Rist’s successful fusion between the biological and electronic.
